SPRINGFIELD STADIUM JERSEY CASE STUDY

Adsum Sport and Play was appointed to carry out the resurfacing works, delivering the project within the planned June–July 2025 window. The existing 3G surface was removed and handled in line with the environmental requirements set out by the Government of Jersey, including the responsible disposal of the old carpet and the reuse of rubber crumb and sand infill where appropriate. Localised base repairs were completed before the installation of a new Polytan synthetic turf system across the 7,500m² pitch.

The project formed part of a wider programme of improvements at Springfield Stadium, which also included the replacement of the adjacent ball court and an upgrade to energy‑efficient LED floodlighting. With around 1,000 weekly users, the new surface provides a consistent, durable and high‑performance playing environment for football, school sport and wider community activity. The upgraded pitch was quickly brought into use by Springfield School pupils, the Jersey FA Walking Football Team and the Jersey Bulls.

In March 2026, Springfield Stadium successfully achieved its Step 4 Accreditation, confirming that the facility meets the National League System ground‑grading requirements for clubs competing at this level. This accreditation reflects the quality of the resurfacing works and the stadium’s continued importance as a central hub for sport on the island.

The completed project has delivered a significant enhancement to one of Jersey’s most valued sporting venues, ensuring that the stadium remains a safe, sustainable and high‑performing facility for years to come.
