Adsum Sport and Play works with schools, sports clubs and domestic clients to deliver high-quality sports and play surfaces tailored to the needs of each facility. From full-size artificial pitches to multi-use games areas and domestic play installations, we provide technically robust, long-lasting solutions backed by clear communication and dependable project delivery.
In 2017, Company Director Simon Hall founded Adsum Sport and Play with the aim of delivering a more personal, transparent and technically reliable approach to sports construction. Since then, the company has grown steadily, supporting schools, clubs and community organisations across the UK.
Simon began his career at a national fencing contractor, supplying ball-retention and security systems to sports surfacing companies throughout the country. He later progressed through senior roles including Sales Manager, Commercial Director and Managing Director at two of the UK's leading sports surfacing contractors. These positions provided hands-on experience across all areas of the industry — from estimating and design to project management and strategic planning — forming the foundation on which Adsum Sport and Play is built.
Today, the company continues to draw on this depth of experience, combining industry knowledge with a commitment to honest advice, high standards and long-term client relationships.
We believe that high-quality sports and play facilities should be delivered responsibly, sustainably and with genuine care for the communities they serve. Wherever possible, we work with local suppliers and businesses, supporting regional economies and reducing unnecessary travel. We are committed to recycling and repurposing materials, forming partnerships with commercial organisations, community groups and charities to ensure that used surfaces and components are given a second life wherever practical.
As we continue to grow, our focus is on building a strong customer base within approximately two hours of our Buckinghamshire headquarters. This approach allows us to reduce our carbon footprint while providing an unrivalled level of attention, responsiveness and service. Every project is treated with the same level of commitment — from small community installations to large multi-pitch developments.
We primarily deliver three types of services (construction, resurfacing and maintenance) for various types of sports surfaces (including 3G / Gen 2 artificial turf pitches, polymeric MUGAs / tracks and tarmac courts). We are happy to discuss the benefits of technologies such as 4G and 5G surfaces, but it should be noted that these have not yet achieved accreditation from major sports bodies. Our aim is to match the very best surface to each individual project.

We work closely with our clients to manage the quality, cost and programme of their projects, ensuring that every stage is delivered with precision and transparency. With more than 25 years of industry experience, we provide solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of each facility rather than relying on generic, off-the-shelf systems.
Our approach is built on technical understanding, practical problem-solving and a commitment to delivering long-term value. By drawing on our extensive network of trusted subcontractors and suppliers, we ensure that every project benefits from specialist expertise and consistent workmanship. This tenacity and attention to detail allow us to meet — and often exceed — the expectations of our clients.
Over the years, Adsum Sport and Play has delivered a wide range of successful projects across schools, clubs and community facilities. Our work includes full-size hockey and football pitch installations, multi-court refurbishments, MUGA resurfacing, fencing upgrades and lighting improvements. Each project is approached with the same commitment to quality, communication and technical accuracy.
Our portfolio includes facilities such as Springfield Stadium in Jersey, Elizabeth College in Guernsey, Merchant Taylors' School in Northwood, Wisbech Hockey Club and many others. These projects demonstrate our ability to manage complex programmes, coordinate specialist subcontractors and deliver high-performance surfaces that stand the test of time.
CHAS accreditation shows that Adsum Sport and Play meets recognised standards in health and safety management. For customers, it provides confidence that every project is delivered with strong risk controls, safe working practices, and fully vetted contractors. It also reduces administrative work for customers because CHAS pre-qualifies Adsum's compliance, meaning essential safety requirements are already verified.
SAPCA membership confirms that Adsum Sport and Play works to the industry benchmark for sports facility construction. It demonstrates adherence to best practice in design, installation, and performance standards for synthetic surfaces. For customers, SAPCA acts as a quality filter, showing that the contractor is independently recognised for technical competence, ethical practice, and consistent delivery. This gives our clients the total confidence that their surface will perform as expected and stand up to long-term use.
Constructionline accreditation verifies that Adsum Sport and Play has passed a detailed review of financial stability, insurance, governance, and operational processes. For customers, it removes uncertainty because the business has already been assessed against government-backed procurement standards. This simplifies onboarding for public-sector clients and reassures private organisations that they are working with a reliable, properly vetted contractor capable of delivering projects responsibly and transparently.
