Elizabeth College in Guernsey required the full replacement of its ageing 2G hockey pitch in 2023, a surface that had reached the end of its service life after many years of intensive school and community use. The College needed a dependable partner capable of managing the project from start to finish while ensuring the new surface met modern performance and safety standards.
Adsum Sport and Play completed a full refurbishment of the College’s Memorial Field hockey pitch, beginning with the removal of the old surface, shock pad layers, fencing and floodlights. The reconstruction included installation of a new pitch base, an in situ‑laid shock pad, Polytan’s Poligras Superplay surface, new perimeter fencing and modern LED floodlighting. Working through our Prime Contractor model, we coordinated all aspects of the build, combining our oversight with the expertise of trusted local subcontractors to ensure a smooth and well‑managed programme of works.

The completed pitch has significantly enhanced the College's hockey provision, delivering a fast, consistent and reliable playing surface for students and the wider island community.
