Oundle School required the refurbishment of its long‑serving Astro 1 pitch in 2022, a 2G hockey surface that had been in use for more than twenty years and was showing clear signs of age, including seam failure and declining performance. The School needed a trusted contractor capable of delivering a full restoration within a defined programme and to a standard suitable for high‑level school and club hockey.
Adsum Sport and Play was appointed to undertake the refurbishment, coordinating the works to align with school term times and minimise disruption. Despite unforeseen challenges encountered on site, the project was delivered on time and within budget. The restoration included the removal of the existing carpet, assessment of the underlying base and installation of a new high‑performance 2G system designed to provide fast, consistent and reliable play.
